Intro
Carry is an app that helps match unnecessary items to those who specifically need them. The app is a social platform where charities and donors could directly connect.
Problem
Although many of our items can be given away and put into good use, finding out how and where to give each item sounds tedious and unclear.
From charities’ perspective, a vast challenge is trying to get rid of items they receive but aren’t very helpful for them to use. Sometimes, charities even have to pay money to get rid of things they never asked for. However, when donors understand what and how to give their items, they will maximize the impact of sharing.
The service needs to meet the needs of both donors and charities.
Solution
Through a mobile application for exchange between charities and donation givers, people can effectively give away unneeded items to local charities, and charities can benefit from receiving matched items for their needs. The app accomplishes the larger goal of supporting a sustainable community and reducing waste.
